Ververica CEO Alex Walden knows a thing or two about streaming data. As the head of the leading commercial outfit behind Apache Flink, Walden has a front-row seat to witness the impact that stream data processing can have on a business. Walden also joined the Big Data Debrief to discuss Ververica’s role in the Flink community.
Streaming data has a history of hits and misses in the IT and analytics business. Reconciling the differences between event data and stateful data, and the different architectures used to store and process these data types, has long been a major challenge in development distributed streaming data architecture.
Apache Flink aims to address that dilemma by unifying streams and batch processing with a single engine. Considering the momentum behind the open source framework, it would appear that streaming data may have finally hit an inflection point in terms of mainstream adoption.
Walden To discuss these topics and more, Ververica CEO Walden joined me recently on the Big Data Debrief.
